oah, i must say i just love this picture, but it seems like you made a small mistake with one of the belts.. it kind of disappears unless it suddenly changes direction in a bit unatural way

i don't know why, but there's just something about the setting that makes me think 'akira'. sure, the figure's a really dominant force in this but there's a deffinate style in reguards to what's going on around her. that peice of machinery she's standing on is just amazing; there's so much going on there with all the different planes and the great, big chunky wires feeding into it. there's also something really desolate about the background; the crude, dark brush strokes do a great job of giving form to the towering, futureistic monololiths sprawling into the sky.

the charater also has a huge presence. she feels very dominating, what with the way she's leaning over us, but then there's the added effect of her scarfs and cowl spilling out. compared to everything else, you've handled her so lightly, what with the faint blues and greys making up her complextion while the lines composing her are so fine. it would be interesting to see how this would have turned out had you appoched her in the same heavy manner with which you takled the background.
